The joint most commonly affected is the knee, with more than 10% of adults over age 60 suffering from knee pain due to osteoarthritis. Initial treatments commonly used include physical therapy, bracing, anti-inflammatory medications, and injections. Surgical treatment, including joint replacement, is commonly used in cases of advanced osteoarthritis. Joint replacement is major surgery, and while the outcomes are generally good, some people continue to experience pain despite this procedure.
MedVadis Research is currently conducting trials to discover new treatments for osteoarthritis knee pain. Please consider participating in one of our non-opioid knee pain trials if you have been diagnosed with this condition. Together we can find safer and more effective treatments to alleviate the pain of those suffering with this debilitating disease.
